Jackson’s Story
On February 28, 2020, at 2:50 AM, our world came to a screeching halt. I went to check on Jackson when he was sleeping and that’s when I realized he wasn’t breathing. I remember desperately trying to wake him, begging for Jackson to be okay. After EMS worked on him for an hour, they told us every parents worst nightmare. We have no answers as to why Jackson died which led us to the SUDC Foundation.
We want to share Jacksons story and continue to spread awareness. He was a happy, healthy 17 month old boy who loved hard. He was such a little lover boy, and he had the best laugh. He loved his family, pacis, golf, being outside with his sister and playing on his scooter. We have no answers as to why Jackson died which led us to The SUDC Foundation - Sudden Unexplained Death of a Child. This is a category of death for children between the ages of 1 to 18 that remains unexplained after thorough investigation.
He loved his paci, eating, playing golf, riding his scooter, lions & leopards, his train set and playing with buttons on the dishwasher.
Jackson's nickname "Jumping Jack" came from his love of jumping in the crib (& he could jump high)! He could jump before he could walk or crawl.
He loved Mickey Mouse, Bubble Guppies and Loo Loo Kids. Some of his favorite books are "Mama Loves You So", "Big Fish, Little Fish", "Peek a Who" and "Cookie Monsters Foodie Truck".
Although we only had 17 months with him, they were the happiest 17 months - Jackson was truly a gift, his happy and fun personality was infectious, he lit up any room he was in.
Help us help others
SUDC is remains unexplained, unpredicted and unpreventable but we are hopeful that it won't always be that way.
Help us with our mission to raise awareness, educate others, and provide support to help bring an end to SUDC.
